To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Royal Academy, we've collaborated with Surface View to present an unparalleled collection of our past posters.
This exhibition showcased the work of the Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto (1898-1976). The poster features Finlandi Hall, a concert venue in Helsinki which Alto designed in the 1970s. He's also known for designing furniture, textiles and glassware in the Scandinavian Modern style.

This retrospective collection of Royal Academy posters, created in colllaboration with Surface View, displays a glorious intersection between art and design, and includes classic posters such as the seminal Sensation Exhibition in 1997 designed by Why Not Associates, Anish Kapoor’s ground breaking exhibition of 2008, and Henri Matisse’s artwork featured on the 1975 French Graphic Art exhibition poster.
Each poster is printed on robust Tyvek® paper with a satin finish and is supplied with struts and bulldog clips for fixing. Each print retains the quality, quirks and age-worn beauty of the original image.
