Tess Jaray's work is characterised by the enigmatic interaction of colour and form. Her use of bold colour creates a subtle pulsating effect, compelling the eye to adjust constantly between stacks and background. The work’s perfectly flat surface ensures nothing intrudes upon the viewer’s experience and creates a similar effect to Jaray’s paintings and screenprints.
The RA Editions programme generates valuable revenue for the RA and in particular the RA Schools.

About Tess Jaray RA
Tess Jaray RA studied at St Martin’s School of Art 1954 - 1957 and the Slade School of Art 1957 - 1960, where she later taught for many years.
She has artworks in public collections such as the Tate and the British Museum, and her paving designs can be seen in Centenary Square, Birmingham, and the forecourt of Victoria Station. In 2010...
