Product story
First cultivated in China, chrysanthemums are considered a symbol of good luck and longevity. They are a recurring motif throughout Ai Weiwei’s work and also feature in his activism. When his passport was withheld by the Chinese government, Weiwei placed a fresh bouquet of flowers in a bicycle basket outside his studio every morning. He also set up an Instagram project called #aiflowers; inviting people everywhere to make flowers in remembrance of the children lost in the 2008 Sichuan earthquake.
