Product story

Allen Jones RA made this limited edition print in the RA Schools in response to the Academy’s 2017 ‘Matisse in the Studio’ exhibition. The final prints are hand signed and numbered by Allen Jones.

Although the visual language and pistachio green palette are both inspired by Matisse's work, the source material for this image can be found in the metal screens or 'moon gates' that Jones has made for various rural sites in the UK including Chatsworth. The linear design around a circular void lends itself perfectly to framing a vista. In this print, Jones' characteristically sensual figures surround the void; the small still life in the corner of the design is a direct homage to Matisse.

RA Editions: All proceeds from the sale of RA Editions prints go directly to support the RA Schools.

Please note that this print is strictly limited to one per buyer and, as is customary in the selling of limited edition prints, the price of this work will rise as the edition sells.

The RA Editions programme generates valuable revenue for the RA and in particular the RA Schools.
