RA X Luke Edward Hall Tea-towel Set
To celebrate 250 years of the Royal Academy of Arts, London-based artist and designer Luke Edward Hall has given an RA-style makeover to the humble tea towel.
This set contains two different designs, both inspired by original items found in the Academy's fascinating archive. The first is a recipe for beef tea - an RA tradition which is drunk by committee members during the selection and hang of the Summer Exhibition. The second towel is printed with a genuine drinks bill from 1788 surrounded by Hall's wreath illustration, inspired by the crest of the Royal Academy.

This set of two Beef Tea and Drinks Bill tea towels has been designed exclusively for the Royal Academy of Arts by Luke Edward Hall to mark the RA's 250th anniversary and to celebrate its rich history as a destination for exquisite drinking and dining.
“I had an incredible time at the RA’s archive, rifling through stacks of beautiful old menus and wine labels - they provided a wealth of inspiration for our new designs, which I hope capture the spirit of the RA’s historic enjoyment of hospitality.”
