Artwork description

Berg, Constellation was produced during Stibbon’s 2013 artist residency in the Antarctic Peninsula made with the Scott Polar Research Institute and the Royal Navy. During this experience the artist was profoundly inspired by the movements of ice viewed from the ship including melting glaciers and the icy expanses of the polar ice caps.

In Stibbon’s words; ‘Watching the full cycle of ice moving and calving into bergs from the ship was impressive. I am interested in glaciers both as dynamic features and as places of psychological imagining - their evident retreat is of urgent environmental concern’.

Artist Sales: this work is sold by the artist. The sale is facilitated by RA Enterprises (RAE) for which RAE receives a commission from the artist only.
