Artwork description

This work is one of a body of eight monotypes collectively titled 'Bloom'. Each work is a unique print that has been produced by painting directly onto a plate with oil paint and printing ink, with only one impression taken; the artist then adds to the work with watercolour. As a result these prints are dynamic and spontaneous, having more in common with painting or drawing than with archetypal printmaking. Parrott’s mark-making and fleshy colour palette creates visceral, unsettling images. Naturalistic shapes reminiscent of the human body combine to create an abstracted, organic landscape that appears to be evolving on the paper.

Artist Sales: this work is sold by the artist. The sale is facilitated by RA Enterprises (RAE) for which RAE receives a commission from the artist only.
