Product story

The Artists' Laboratory series presents the more experimental and less familiar work of contemporary artists, opening up the creative process to explore the conceptual and practical concerns with which they engage.

Paul Huxley RA places the new work in the context of Maine's career, while Dr Richard Gem introduces the history and significance of the Cosmati pavement. A conversation between Maine and the architect Richard MacCormac RA considers the differences between their respective practices, and the varied cultural references suggested by Maine's installation.
