Product story
This unique work is one of a pair of intricate, small-scale drawings taken directly from Bryan Kneale RA’s sketchbook. Kneale is renowned as an abstract sculptor whose work ranges in scale from pieces that can be hand-held to monumental sculptural commissions. Often working in metal, Kneale’s works are characterised by curved and spiked forms that often create a sense of tension or balance. This delicate drawing explores a futuristic cellular form, as if growing under examination through a microscope.
This work part of a collection of work by Royal Academicians including Gillian Ayres and Basil Beattie which are being presented in celebration of the Academy’s ‘Abstract Expressionism’ exhibition. It is displayed near the entrance to the Grand Café in the Royal Academy of Arts’ main building on Piccadilly.
Artist Sales: This work is sold by the artist. The sale is facilitated by RA Enterprises (RAE) for which RAE receives a commission from the artist only.
