This expressive woodcut print by recent RA Schools graduate Declan Jenkin was inspired by a poem written by the artist. The subject matter explores the concept of performance art, whereby an actor ‘experiences some kind of joy at being undefined and in between identities’ as he completes a performance and returns to his former person.
Recent RA Schools Graduate Jenkins predominantly works with the mediums of woodcut and performative poetry and his work often explores questions surrounding the notions of creative self-consciousness and showmanship.
