Product story

This collection of posters, selected in collaboration with Gary Hume from his extensive archive, showcases the breadth of his painterly touch. Conceived with the spirit of democratising art, the posters provide an accessible and aesthetic way to bring art into your home. Printed exclusively by hume-arts.

“The main reason the posters started was because of my brother and sister-in-law. They have a framing shop in Kent and have a book of my work on a table while customers wait. They often have customers ask whether they can buy any of the works in the book and would say ‘yes, but how much money have you got?’ We talked about it and thought: we are family, why don't we work together to democratise the ownership of paintings and print some works as posters. Family is really important to me and working together on making these posters has been integral part of the project and particularly important during Covid."

About hume-arts

Most days you can find Shaun Hume at the workbench of Handmade Frames, a picture framing shop he runs with his wife Clare in the picturesque village of Rolvenden in Kent. His clients include artists and art collectors, who have come to value the care with which he considers and carries out their commissions. Shaun, coincidentally, happens also to be the brother of Gary Hume, our beloved Royal Academician. Working together as a family, last year they launched posters of a number of Hume's paintings, making his work accessible to a wider audience.
