Drop y Ron Arad derives from the artist’s 2014 large-scale project In Reverse, which presented digital simulations of the behaviour of a car chassis under compression. Ron Arad (b. 1951, Israel) is a renowned designer who lives and works in London. Over a prolific international career, he has produced a diverse and energetic body of work which experiments with the possibilities and boundaries of material and form. His practice connects the fields of product design, manufacture and fine art as well as exploring the relationship between digital and physical renderings and craft.

Arad studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Art and the Architectural Association in London. In 1981 he founded One Off studio with Caroline Thorman, before launching his own architecture and design studio. As well as producing limited edition studio work he designs for companies including Kartell, Cassina and Alessi. He has exhibited extensively across the world including at the Centre Pompidou, Paris, MoMA, New York and the Barbican, London. He became a Royal Academician in 2013.
