Artwork description

This vibrant limited edition print, East, was created at a time when the artist was ‘making paintings about the Indian influence in the East End of London’. He describes it as featuring a ‘circular cityscape in the top right’. The chosen palette of ochre evokes the heat and wondrous assault on the senses for which India is known and loved. Moon’s visual language has developed dramatically in recent years. In his latest unique works he employs a monochrome palette and depicts objects amongst a heavily textured background, thereby creating a sense of viewing the subject through a haze.
