Exactly how do the two-dimensional and three-dimensional relate and interact? Prudence Ainslie interrogates the viewing experience in this arresting mixed-media print. The artist’s starting point was a sequence of photographs capturing Iceland’s atmospheric winter light. Selected frames were printed onto clear film, and folded into 3-D forms. These were then re-photographed, capturing both the original scene, and the shadow cast by the prevailing light.
