Product story
Born in 1890, Dod Procter was raised in Cornwall, where she enrolled at the Forbes School of Painting at the age of fifteen. It was here that she met Ernest Procter, whom she would later marry. Both she and Ernest also studied at Académie Colarossi in Paris, where they were heavily influenced by Impressionism and Post-Impressionism.
Procter's most famous work, Morning, was voted Picture of the Year at the 1927 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. She was made a Royal Academician in 1942.
