Kuzma Sergeevich Petrov-Vodkin (1878-1939) was a painter and writer who studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, becoming a Professor of St Petersburg Academy of Arts and the first president of Leningrad Regional Union of Soviet Artists in 1932.
