Product story

The CELL collection of stainless steel candle-holders draw inspiration from the replication and growth of cellular organisms - the insertion points, or the ‘nuclei’, are unified by a dramatic reflective landscape.  These processes found in nature are often embodied in the design process, as the objects are developed and considered in relation to each other, and never in isolation.

As a result, the collection invites’ the user to multiply, reconfigure, and stack the different elements in modules which can be adapted to any environment.  The scale, materiality, and weight, of the pieces have been meticulously refined such as, the mirror-polished, and seamless PVD plating, which allows for a scratch-resistant finish; this has produced a subtle, uncompromising, and flawless quality that is unique to Zaha Hadid Design’s work.

Zaha Hadid Design (ZHD) was established in 2006 by Zaha Hadid, and operates under the lead of Woody Yao and Maha Kutay. Pushing the boundaries of contemporary design, ZHD implements the latest technological and material advancements in design, in collaboration with the world’s most respected brands. The ZHD portfolio includes commissions from a wide range of design disciplines such as fashion, jewellery, limited edition furniture pieces, interiors, exhibition, and set-design. As an architect and designer, Zaha Hadid’s work explored spatial concepts at all scales.
