Product story

Architectural Designer, Cristina Militaru, defines herself as elegant, stubborn and ambitious. With Chris Arris Design she translates these words into her work, using beautiful and luxurious materials digitally printed and hand finished to create unique scarves. They are bold and modern, representing the contemporary, independent and confident individual.

Each scarf design starts as a sketch, then becoming a conceptual composition of emotions gathered from a particular place, space or written text.
Trained as an architect at The University of Nottingham and The Bartlett, Cristina transposes her unique understanding of social encounters onto splendid materials, creating a statement with each product.

The Ink Infill drawing was inspired by The Calder Vale in Wakefield and it refers to the process of forgetting and remembering translated into the distillation of a whole to moments, to fragmented and filtered pieces.
It represents a series of time zones of shadows, quiet reflective solitude and spatial tensions of un-programmed ambiguity. It was drawn during Cristina's architectural studies using dried acrylic and water. This image was digitally transferred onto luxurious 100% silk to create a handcrafted scarf.
