Jennifer Durrant Limited Edition Rug
This limited edition rug features a design by Jennifer Durrant RA and is produced in collaboration with Christopher Farr. It is available exclusively at the Royal Academy of Arts.
Jennifer Durrant RA studied at Brighton College of Art from 1959 to 1963 and at the Slade School of Art, London from 1963 to 1966. Durrant’s work has been praised for its “symbolic resonance”. The abstract forms which distinguish her work often suggest natural processes but resist definition. Her abstract paintings from the series Ghirlanda feature vertical bands of colour incorporating vertical strips of irregularly shaped circular forms using acrylic and metallic paints on canvas and on wood panels. Her work is often described in spiritual terms, the artist herself having stated that its use may be meditative or contemplative.
Jennifer Durrant was elected a Royal Academician 1994 and lives and works in Umbria, Italy.
