This luxurious and beautifully vibrant silk scarf features the work of Sarah Pickstone, and was created in collaboration with British Fashion designer Florence Bridge. This work - titled An allegory of Painting - was commissioned by the RA for the 250th anniversary celebration and is on display in the entrance to Burlington Gardens.

Sarah Pickstone is an award-winning artist and an alumna of the Royal Academy Schools. She lives and works in London. She won the John Moores Painting Prize and the Rome Scholarship and exhibits internationally. Recent solo shows include: Other Stories, CGP London, The Writers Series, New Art Centre, Salisbury and The Rehearsal, Mercer Gallery, Yorkshire. Pickstone is the author of Park Notes (Daunt Books, 2014).
Pickstone makes very large scale paintings in watercolour with oil and draws extensively. She has a particular interest in the contribution made by women artists and writers to visual and literary history and their creative processes. An Allegory of Painting was a commissioned site-specific painting for the entrance hall of Burlington House.
Florence Bridge is a London based fashion label founded in 2013 and focused on creating classic contemporary womenswear. Specialising in digitally printed silks, patchwork leather and shearling textures, all Florence Bridge pieces are hand crafted in London with by specialists teams. Florence Bridge aims to keep their carbon footprint down to the minimum by undertaking all production within the UK.
Florence is from London. She studied fashion design at Nottingham Trent University and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York graduating in 2012 with a first class degree. Before setting up her own label she worked for a number of luxury womenswear designers gaining experience in pattern cutting, embellishment, and production.
