Artwork description

This vibrant screenprint by Yinka Shonibare RA pays homage to his Ship in a Bottle sculpture previously showcased on Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth. Featuring glittering gold leaf as well as Shonibare’s trademark African textile patterns, both pieces subtly address a myriad of concerns ranging from race and class through to cultural and social identity. Shonibare is internationally renowned for his high profile sculptural public commissions. His draped RA Family Album currently adorns the façade of the Academy’s 6 Burlington Gardens building.

Artist Sales: this work is sold by the artist. The sale is facilitated by RA Enterprises (RAE) for which RAE receives a commission from the artist only.
