Artwork description

A black cat seems to leap across London’s skyline by night in this atmospheric etching by Senior Academician Peter Freeth.

Inspired by his extensive travels throughout Italy, one of the abiding themes in Peter Freeth’s artwork is that of past masters. The distinctive ‘softness’ of Freeth’s imagery is achieved by applying resin to the plate during the etching process which results in his characterful monochromic works.
