Luke Edward Hall is a London-based artist and designer of interiors, fabrics and ceramics. His aesthetic is informed by a love of history, an appreciation of beauty and a sense of playfulness. His work is in the English illustrative tradition reflected throughout the RA’s own history of exhibition, catalogue and graphic design.
For its 250th birthday, the RA has commissioned Luke to create exclusive new designs celebrating its rich history and place in London cultural and artistic society: its dining club, its parties and its personalities. Luke has explored the Academy’s archives and taken inspiration from original menus, wine labels, bar bills and table plans. The range includes reproductions of original artwork, combined with Luke’s witty 21st century take on years of spectacular wining and dining.
