Richard Spare Born in 1951, Richard Spare studied painting at Maidstone College of Art. A Master Printmaker, Spare has editioned work for many contemporary artists including Hockney, Ryman, Clemente, Sultan, Johns and Haring. Working from his studio in London, he exhibits his own work widely, both in the UK and internationally. He regularly exhibits in Australia, the USA and Japan, where he has had a series of solo shows and his work is held in Universities and Private Collections around the world. Richard Spare is a frequent exhibitor in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. The notecards feature two hand coloured drypoint prints of British birds: Kingfisher, 2011 and Goldcrest, 2012.
