Calder Exhibition Poster, 1992
Originally titled 'Celebrating Calder' by the organiser, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Royal Academy was the second stop on a tour that saw this show travel to six venues across the globe. At the heart of the exhibition was Calder's "Circus" of wire-form acrobats and animals. Even so, every phase of the artist's career was represented, including his famous sculptural 'mobiles'.
