Product story

"The print is one of a long line of graphic interpretations of skaters, where patterns are found in their silhouettes and shadows. The original image came from sketches I made at the Wollman Rink in 1989 as the sun was setting over the buildings on Central Park South."

Bill Jacklin originally worked as a graphic designer before turning to painting in the early 1960s, studying at the Royal College of Art. Initially concerned with abstraction, Jacklin moved towards figurative work in the mid-1970s, focusing mostly on light and movement.

Written by Nancy Campbell with an introduction by Jill Lloyd and a printmaking glossary by Michael Barratt.
