Poster advertising the Young Contemporaries show in 1970. This is one of many celebrated exhibition posters from the Royal Academy collection that has been selected for publication upon its 250th birthday.
This poster advertises the 21st Anniversary Young Contemporaries show in 1970. These exhibitions were started in 1949 by the artist Carel Weight, tutor at the RCA, to showcase the work of students. This was the last show for several years and the project was resurrected in 1974 as the new Contemporaries at Camden Arts Centre. The artwork was no doubt supplied by one of the exhibiting students.
