Donald Hamilton Fraser RA (1929-2009) was part of a tradition whereby newly elected Academicians would design the Summer Exhibition poster. In this year, Fraser became very interested in the Kite motif developed in this poster to the extent that Kite's were sold in the gift shop throughout the exhibition.
