Artwork description

Unique, hand-painted sign by Bob and Roberta Smith RA, master of satirical commentary and challenger of elitism. Bob and Roberta Smith (who is actually one artist, not a pairing) is renowned for his low-tech, impactful paintings on wood and is perhaps best known for his controversial Letter to Michael Gove, shown in the 2015 Summer Exhibition. In this work, the artist’s luminous text gently mocks the ‘bourgeoisie’; he frequently brings together characters from different cultural worlds (in this case, Dali and Zsa Zsa Gabor converse) to deliver his passionate messaging on politics and cultural education.

Artist Sales: this work is sold by the artist. The sale is facilitated by RA Enterprises (RAE) for which RAE receives a commission from the artist only.
