Artwork description

Hambling’s diverse practice includes painting, works on paper and installation. Perhaps best-known for her public sculpture such as ‘Scallop’ a four-metre high work on Aldebugh beach dedicated to Benjamin Britten, Hambling has also made numerous portraits of herself and others; friends, artists, writers – both living and historical - as well as studies of animals. Gnarled, dynamic and expressive, her mark-making creates sensuous and uncompromising images. This print is derived from a series of drawings exhibited in the artist’s celebrated recent retrospective of works on paper at the British Museum.

Artist Sales: this work is sold by the artist. The sale is facilitated by RA Enterprises (RAE) for which RAE receives a commission from the artist only.
