Artwork description

An atmospheric campfire is captured by Bill Woodrow RA in this unique double-sided drawing. The charcoal lines depict gnarled woodblocks which recall Woodrow’s sculptural pieces from his ‘Beekeeper’ series from the late 1990s, where organic materials were often represented and recreated. The addition of oil paint to this charcoal drawing gives colour and vibrancy to the flames.
