Anthony Eyton RA has made a number of paintings of his garden at home in Brixton. This is one of a pair of studies of his pond where a stone slab acts as a bridge. Depicting irises in the foreground, this work features the dynamic mark-making and expressive handling of paint for which Eyton is renowned. It is presented among a number of Eyton’s dynamic new paintings that explore in detail the collapse of some shelving in his studio.
