A Humument is an adapted and recreated version of the obscure book A Human Document from 1892. Tom Phillips RA purchased the book in the late 1960s for threepence with the aim of re-working every single page through the methods of collage, painting and cutting through sections in order to create an entirely new book and work of art. It has been an on-going process over the past four decades, whereby the artist continues to develop every page.
