A Shetland Notebook contains 39 watercolours selected from various journeys to the edges of the Shetland Islands in the spring and summer of 2012. Back in his Bermondsey studio, with the assistance of artist Niamh Clancy, Ackroyd uses these studies made en plein air as a foundation for creating beautiful monochrome prints like The Noup of Noss.
