In sequences of closely related photographs Nicholas Sinclair takes charateristic features of urban landscape to explore the interaction between a city and its citizens as recorded through graffiti. In the cities of Palermo, Istanbul, Budapest, Paris and Berlin we are invited to look at graffiti anew: not as an aggressive intrusion but rather as a part of an ongoing, collaborative transformation of the modern city.
