Produced exclusively for the RA Shop in collaboration with Clare Woods RA and Christopher Farr, this limited edition rug features Wood's artwork Game Changer, 2022. Originally an Oil on Alluminium, the rug features twelve colours, specially selected and matched from the original painting.
Limited to 50 editions, each rug is handmade from 100% wool and produced in India according to Care & Fair ethical standards.
Clare Woods was born in Southampton, England, in 1972. She studied for her BA Fine Art at Bath College of Art 1991-94 and for her MA Fine Art at Goldsmith’s College, London 1997-99. Having initially trained as a sculptor, Woods’ understanding of sculptural forms underpin her paintings, collages and prints. She depicts still lifes, interiors and portraits that hover between figuration and abstraction. In 2022, Woods was elected a Royal Academician, and in 2023, curated a selection of still-life works at the Summer Exhibition. Woods exhibits internationally and her work is held in numerous public collections.
Christopher Farr prides itself on using only the very best available yarn, dyes and weavers to produce the finest rugs and textiles. The company actively supports Care & Fair, an organisation based in India dedicated to the elimination of child labour in the rug industry and the education of children in weaving areas.
