Welsh born artist, Heidi Wickham, attended Bristol Polytechnic from 1986-9 graduating with a BA (Hons). Heidi has been living in Sligo, Ireland, since 1992 where she works from her home studio. Her work is in collections in Ireland and around the world and she has had work selected for the RA, RUA, RHA and RSA. Heidi predominantly works in charcoals and her subjects are both wild and domesticated animals, with particular reference to the emotional connection between animal and viewer. Her animal works are mainly passive and possibly melancholic and most of her references come from animal shelter or animal conservation documentation.
