This exhibition was one of several staged by the RA not only to celebrate art and culture but also to show solidarity with beleaguered allied nations. Just as the London Blitz reached its final destructive phase, visitors to the Academy were able to wonder, in comparative peace, at 3000 years of Greek creativity.

This retrospective collection of Royal Academy posters, created in colllaboration with Surface View, displays a glorious intersection between art and design, and includes classic posters such as the seminal Sensation Exhibition in 1997 designed by Why Not Associates, Anish Kapoor’s ground breaking exhibition of 2009, and Henri Matisse’s artwork featured on the 1975 French Graphic Art exhibition poster.
Each poster is printed on robust Tyvek® paper with a satin finish and is supplied with struts and bulldog clips for fixing. Each print retains the quality, quirks and age-worn beauty of the original image.
