Leonard McComb RA was born in Glasgow in 1930. He studied at Manchester School of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art, London. He is a draughtsman, painter, sculptor and printmaker whose work examines the the detail in nature's forms.
McComb was elected to the Royal Academy in 1990 and acted as Keeper of the Royal Academy from 1995 to 1998.
