Greetings card printed with Mary Fedden RA's Seagull, Aldeburgh, 1992
In the later years of her richly creative life, Mary Fedden RA was one of the most well-loved British artists of her time. Her art delights in the particularities of things: the longitudinal stripes and hidden symmetries of cut fruit, the markings of cats, birds, butterflies, eggs and seashells and the hues and luminosity of flowers including the lily, daffodil and poppy.
Fedden was elected as a Senior Royal Academician in 1992.
