Potential to Convert, 2018 by Richard Woods

This woodblock and screenprint by Richard Woods is part of the series titled Dream Homes, featuring mini cartoon homes, designed to look like traditional British bungalows that play on the idea of sought-after locations. Each print is layered with Woods’ classic brick, tile, wood and stone patterns, and is titled based on estate agents promotional material such as ‘Outstanding Sea View’ or ‘Mature Garden’.

This print is currently on display in Keeper's House, Burlington House.

Product story

Richard Woods was born in Chester, England, in 1966 and graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art, London in 1990, where he trained as a sculptor. Woods is well known for his architectural installations and re-surfacing of structures that propose an absurd twist on the cult of home improvement and DIY aesthetics. His works are characterised by cartoon-like decorative surfaces, bold patterns and vibrant colours.
