Born in 1951, Richard Spare studied painting at Maidstone College of Art. A master printmaker, Spare has editioned work for many contemporary artists including David Hockney RA, Ryman, Clemente, Sultan, Johns and Haring.
Spare's work was first shown in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 1973, and he has been a frequent exhibitor since.
