With a career spanning over forty-five years, Roger Duvoisin is best known for his children's picture books. He was awarded the Caldecott Medal in 1948 for his illustrations in the classic picture book White Snow, Bright Snow. His most recent accolade came in 2020 with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Illustrators. Duvoisin illustrated over 140 books, 40 of which he wrote himself. This illustration comes from his book The Night Before Christmas published by Knopf Books for Young Readers in the U.S and Scallywag Press in the UK.
