This etching is a colourful exploration of landscape based on visual memory. Ian McNicol uses the etching process with an altered perspective to make a compositional structure which embodies the space, light, and form of a traditional landscape depiction.
The subtle blending of colour is created using the a la poupée method which gives each print a slight variation and a unique quality.
