The Art of Philip Guston 1913-1980 Exhibition Poster, 2004
The Royal Academy staged the first comprehensive UK retrospective of work by American painter, Philip Guston. The artist's transition from figuration to abstraction had long made him a figure of renown in post-War American painting. But his late-career return to an uncompromising figuration reinvigorated American painting in the 1970s and 1980s and continues to exert a powerful influence on younger artists.
The Art of Philip Guston 1913-1980 Exhibition Poster, 2004. RA Collection. Featuring Philip Guston, The Studio, 1969. Private Collection. Design by Why Not Associates.
